In Ulrich Schridde`s talk, he will provide some background information about Cell Press, their journals and what they do, as well as publishing with them, including detailed information about the editorial process and some behind the scenes view.
Short Bio Ulrich Schridde (CV):
Ulrich Schridde was born in Berlin and grew up in Germany. He is currently an Associate Editor for the Cell Press journal Neuron and lives and works in Boston, MA, USA. At Neuron his main responsibility is to manage, evaluate and edit scientific articles and other forms of scientific publications, as well as write specific content for the journal as need be. As an Editor he also frequently travels domestic and internationally to attend scientific conferences and liaise with the global scientific community. Ulrich Schridde studied psychology at the Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands, between 1994 and 1999 and obtained his PhD at the same university in 2005 on a thesis titled ‘Absence epilepsy in rats: How nurture shapes nature. Genotypic and environmental influences on spike-wave discharges across the lifespan’. From 2004 to 2007 he was a Postdoc in the lab of Dr. Hal Blumenfeld at the Dept. of Neurology at the Yale University School of Medicine, USA. He did a 2nd postdoc between 2007 and 2012 with Dr. Nikos Logothetis at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tuebingen, Germany, before joining Cell Press in September 2012.
